I've always loved fairytales and the idea of a magical world. Perhaps because the real world feels progressively less magical and without mystery. Irish fairies are particularly attractive to me, because they’re not cute little winged creatures with magic wands, but a separate people: The Hidden Folk. They are fierce and independent, and will only help men if they feel so inclined. The live in a separate world, and have their sacred spaces, which are respected by the Irish people. They can transform themselves into animals, and I imagine them as costumed in fur, feathers and leaves.
