I struggled to find a word to describe what I felt as I composed this painting. The heather in the halo is symbolic of protection, and the robins symbolize good luck and rebirth, whilst the bindweed flowers mean purity and spirituality. The concept I was nurturing was that we carry our spiritual home within us, and that we must have faith in our capacity to treat ourselves and life on earth with kindness and in a spirit of equality and sharing. We must have faith that, despite all we are facing, there will be leaders who will turn us onto a path of harmony.
