This is the second in my series called ‘In My Mind’ in which I try to reconcile the complexity of nature and climate change with our tendency to look for simple solutions. In this piece, I am saying that we are praying that something will save us from our future, when the real world already holds the answers. The ivy represents eternity and faith, whilst starlings represent communication. The painting contains elements that grow quickly, such as the navel wort, which sprouts from rocks that are millions of years old.
