Wisdom is the ability to contemplate and act productively using knowledge and experience. In this painting, Ayda’s arm rests on a cloud, representing higher thought, but her bodice is formed of things of the earth, such as tree roots, ivy, and rocks. Her wisdom comes from the understanding that we grow from the real world and that we cannot have our head in the clouds if we are to find a path to the future.
